Flair Data is an established solutions provider with a history of success. Our success is driven by a focus on earning and keeping customers. Many are repeat customers with whom we have developed a lasting relationship.

Company History

Flair Data has its roots in parent company Porter Burgess Company. The company was founded by Dallas native Porter Burgess who sold Motorola car radios, a revolutionary technology at the time. Porter Burgess Company was transferred to second and third generation owners, maintaining the company’s family tradition.

As technology evolved, so did the company. In 1982, Flair Data Systems was established as a communications equipment reseller, setting up connectivity for companies between centralized hosts and remote offices. At the time, connectivity was provided using modems and channel banks.  Technology moved to Local Area Networks (LAN) as the personal computer grew in popularity in the eighties. Flair Data Systems recognized a need for Wide Area Network (WAN) solutions to connect LAN's at different company locations and engineered solutions that allow Voice and Data to be carried over the WAN.

The ability to deliver this innovative type of technology integration was significant in Flair Data Systems’ growth and success. In the early nineties Cisco Systems introduced their state of the art routing solutions. In 1993 Flair Data Systems became the first Cisco reseller in the DFW area. In 2002 Flair Data Systems advanced to Cisco Silver Partner, then in 2004 achieved Gold Partner Certification. We are committed to Cisco as our primary product line and focus.

In 2007 Flair Data Systems moved its corporate headquarters of 12 years to a larger facility north of Dallas in Plano. We honor our history but remain committed to our future.
